Sarah Martin-Nuss is an interdisciplinary artist working across painting, drawing, performance, and sound. Her work draws from biological systems, philosophical post-humanist thought, and the intricate web of ecological relationships, exploring themes of interconnectivity, transformation, and time.

Martin-Nuss received her BA in Fine Art and English Literature from Austin College in 2014 and her MFA in Painting and Drawing from Pratt Institute in 2024. She also studied visual arts at College International De Cannes and performance, sound, and video art at the School of Visual Arts in New York. She is a producer, songwriter, and vocalist for the Avant-Pop duo Dancing In Tongues.

In 2021, she was commissioned to compose a forty-minute sound installation that premiered at Smack Mellon, Brooklyn, as part of a performance by multimedia artist Katya Grokhovky. A rendition of this installation was also performed as part of the Six Foot Platform Residency, organized by the Brooklyn Arts Council.

Recent solo exhibitions include Pouring Water Into Water at Rachel Uffner Gallery, New York, NY (2024) and Open Systems at Prince & Wooster, New York, NY (2023). Recent group exhibitions include The Figure Abstracted at Prince & Wooster, New York, NY (2024) and The Blue Hour at Phillips X (2024). Her work has been featured in Two Coats of Paint, Cultbytes, and New American Paintings.

Born in Corpus Christi, Texas, Martin-Nuss now lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
